We had the music for this as one of the first tracks we recorded. I knew what I wanted to say but the words were not coming. I took to trying to write on my daily runs (1 hour allowed at the time) and slowly this came about. My runs at the time were taking me through the main Sheffield victorian cemetery which I think certainly put things into context. There was so much to say about this situation at the time. The confusion with rules, anger, panic and worry. The feeling that the UK tory government was not (and still not) doing the best for the people. But there was also a feeling of British grit and stiff upper lip - the blitz spirit. Hence the uplifting chorus.
